Don Bosco School Mambatta Mukkam

Don Bosco School Mambatta Mukkam is located in the Mukkam area of Kozhikode. It is a pretty green spot, which makes it a nice place to spend the day. We have been part of this community for quite a while now. The school is not a modern architectural marvel; it is just a set of sturdy buildings with classrooms that have seen many groups of students come and go. We have a lot of local staff who have grown up in this area themselves, so there is a real sense of connection with the families. The mornings are always a bit loud with the buses and parents dropping off their children. It can be a bit of a squeeze at the entrance, but we have a system that works. In Kerala, we get a lot of rain, so we spend a good portion of the year making sure the roofs do not leak and the kids stay dry during their breaks. We do not have any fancy language in our brochures because we do not really use brochures. Word of mouth is how most people hear about us. The classrooms have the essential things like desks and chalkboards. We just focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the students are safe and learning. It is a very normal, down-to-earth school where we take things one day at a time without any unnecessary fuss.
