Ishaath Public School

Our school is located out in Poonoor, near Unnikulam in the Calicut area. It’s a decent-sized building that stands out in the neighborhood. We have students coming in from all around this part of Kozhikode, some walking and some taking the bus. The mornings are always a bit chaotic with everyone arriving at once, but things settle down once the first bell rings. We have classrooms for different grades, and the teachers usually have their hands full with large groups of kids. There’s a yard out front where we hold morning assembly. It can get pretty hot under the sun, so we try to keep it brief. We teach the usual subjects like math, science, and languages. The desks are a bit old, and some have names carved into the wood from years ago. We have a small staff room where teachers gather to grade papers and drink tea during their breaks. It’s a very local atmosphere, and everyone knows everyone else’s business. We try to keep the grounds tidy, though the rain during monsoon makes it hard with all the mud. The kids seem to enjoy themselves regardless of the weather. We don’t have all the latest equipment, but we make do with what we have. It’s a place for learning and growing up, and we take that responsibility seriously without being too stiff about it.
