Up in the hills of Mukkam in Kozhikode, you will find Pallotti Hill Public School. The address is 673602. It’s a bit of a climb to get up here, but the air is a little fresher than down in the city. The school sits on a bit of a slope. We have a few buildings connected by paths. It is not a perfectly flat campus, so the kids get plenty of exercise just moving between classes. Kozhikode can get very rainy, so the paths are often wet. Inside, the classrooms have a lot of natural light because of the big windows. We have a library that is a bit cramped but full of books that the students actually read. It’s a very straightforward place. We don't have any big slogans or expensive statues. It’s just desks, chairs, and people. The staff room is always a bit cluttered with tea cups and papers. Mukkam is a peaceful place to be, and the school fits right into that. Most of the students come from the local area. You can see the green hills from almost any window in the building. It’s a good spot for a school. We just keep the gates open and follow the bell. People find us easily enough once they get to the right part of Mukkam. It is just a quiet school doing its thing every day.
