Jessy

Jessy is our small business tucked away in Kuttichira, Calicut. This neighborhood has a lot of history, and we feel like we are a small part of that too. We’ve been here for many years, operating out of the same spot. It’s not a very big place, but it works for what we do. Most of our customers are people who live just a few streets away. They know us and we know them. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just show up in the morning, open the doors, and get to work. The building is old and sometimes the roof leaks when the monsoon hits hard, so we keep some buckets handy. It’s just one of those things you deal with. We don't spend money on advertising because word of mouth is enough in Kuttichira. If you do a decent job, people tell their friends. The street outside is usually crowded with people and bikes, which gives the place a lot of energy. Sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming, but we like the buzz. We don't have a complicated system for anything. We keep our records in a notebook and talk to people face to face. It’s a very old-fashioned way of doing things, I suppose, but it has worked for us so far. We’re just happy to be part of the community and serve the people here.
