Virendra Battery Works is located at number 57 in the Shopping Centre on Jhalawar Road. You can usually tell which shop is ours because there are old battery casings sitting outside on the pavement. The inside of the shop smells like lead and acid, which is something you just get used to after a few days. We spend a lot of our time lifting heavy batteries for cars and tractors. It is dirty work and our clothes always have some kind of stain on them. We have a few charging stations set up along the wall that hum all day long. When a customer comes in with a dead battery, we have to test it and see if it can be saved or if they need a new one. It's a simple process but it takes time. Jhalawar Road is a main path, so we get a lot of people who are in a hurry because their vehicle broke down nearby. We don't have a fancy waiting room, just a couple of plastic chairs near the entrance. Sometimes we have to go out to help someone jumpstart their engine if they are stuck close by. It is a lot of physical labor and getting our hands greasy, but it is what we do here at the Shopping Centre. We just keep the chargers running and make sure the stock is ready for whoever needs it.
