Khandelwal Auto Electrical is at New Motor Market 46. This part of town is always full of oil and the sound of engines revving. Our shop is just like the others around here. We have tools scattered on the workbench and old parts sitting in plastic bins. It’s not the cleanest place, but you can’t really keep an electrical shop clean when you're working on old trucks and cars all day long. My shirt usually has a few grease marks on it by ten in the morning. I’ve been at number 46 for a long time now. The neighbors are all in the same trade, so we help each other out with tools or advice when something tricky comes in. It's a tight squeeze inside when we have a lot of work. We usually have the radio playing some old songs in the background to keep us company. It helps the time pass when we're busy. We don't have a secretary or anyone to answer the phones, so if it rings and we're under a car, it just rings. People usually just show up anyway because they know we are here. That’s how it works at New Motor Market. We don't do any big marketing or advertising. We just fix what's broken and move on to the next job. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we stay late if a job really needs finishing.
