Anjani Traders

Anjani Traders is situated on Station Road, right by Gandhiji Ka Pool. It’s a landmark that everyone knows, so we don't have to give much direction when people ask where we are. The traffic on Station Road is always heavy, especially when the trains come in at the station nearby. You can hear the horns and the whistles all day long. Our shop is tucked in there, and it’s been part of the street for ages. The walls are a bit faded and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound, but it works well enough to keep us cool. We have shelves filled with all sorts of things. Sometimes I forget what’s in the very back because it’s so deep. We don't have a computer to track everything; we just remember where things are or look for them. My son started helping me recently, which is good because I’m getting a bit slower these days. We sit on wooden stools near the front and watch the people go by when it's quiet. Gandhiji Ka Pool brings a lot of foot traffic, so we see all kinds of people every day. Some just want to chat for a minute while they catch their breath. We don't try to push anyone to buy anything they don't want. If they need it, they’ll ask. It’s a relaxed way to run things. We like the location because it feels like the heart of the city.
