Jahid Battery Services

Our shop, Jahid Battery Services, is right on the Main Road in Transport Nagar at 35-A. Being on the main road means there is a lot of dust from the heavy trucks passing by all the time. We spend our days checking batteries and filling them up with distilled water. The smell of the battery acid is something you never really forget. We have rows of old batteries waiting to be recycled and new ones ready to go. It’s a busy spot because the transporters always need their vehicles running. We have a small charging station set up in the corner that hums all day. Sometimes the wires get a bit tangled, but we know which one goes where. It’s mostly me and my nephew working here. We have a few chairs for customers to sit on while they wait for a charge. The floor is made of rough stone and has some stains from old spills. We don't have a lot of decorations, just a calendar from three years ago on the wall. It's a practical place. We get our hands dirty every single day. The traffic outside is constant, so it’s never really quiet here. We close up once it gets dark and the street lights come on. It’s just honest work helping the truck drivers keep their rigs moving through the night. We try to keep things organized but the batteries take up a lot of room.
