Jaipur Battery

We are located at 112 New Motor Market. Jaipur Battery has been sitting in this row for a long time. The shop is full of those tall inverter batteries and the smaller ones for motorcycles. It’s a dusty place because of all the trucks and cars moving around in the market. We spend our time checking voltages and cleaning terminals. People come here when their lights go out at home or their tractor won't turn over. It’s mostly just hard physical work. Moving those batteries around isn't easy on the back. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep the warranty papers and the bill book. The walls are stained from years of work. Sometimes we get a whole fleet of delivery vans needing replacements at once. That keeps us jumping. We don't do much talking, just get the work done and move on to the next one. The tea man comes around twice a day, which is the best part. Dealing with battery acid means we go through a lot of work shirts. They all end up with little holes in them eventually. It’s just the nature of the trade. We stay open as long as there are mechanics still working in the market. It’s a dirty, honest way to make a living in Kota. We keep a stack of old newspapers to wrap the smaller bike batteries in when people take them home.
