If you come down to the New Motor Market, you’ll find us right near the Polytecnic College boundary road. The shop is usually full of old batteries and tools scattered around. It’s a greasy job and our hands are rarely clean, but that’s just part of working on cars and bikes all day. We spend a lot of time testing things and seeing why a battery won't hold a charge anymore. Most people come to us when they’re in a bit of a hurry because their vehicle won't start, so we try to get things sorted out as fast as we can. The noise from the college and the traffic on the boundary road is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We aren't a big fancy service center with a waiting room; people usually just stand around and talk to us while we work. Sometimes we have to tell someone their battery is completely dead, which is never fun, but we just tell it like it is. We’ve been at this location for a good while and we know most of the other mechanics around the motor market. It’s hard work, especially in the summer when the metal gets hot, but it’s what we do. We just keep the shop open, handle the repairs, and make sure we’re here for whoever stops by with a problem. It's just a regular part of life here at the edge of the market.
