Wlc College

Hungerford Street has a certain feel to it that you don't find in other parts of Kolkata. We are located at 10C, and if you’ve ever walked down this way, you know it’s a mix of old buildings and narrow lanes. Wlc College isn't very large, but we fit everyone in. The walls are thick, which helps a bit when the heavy Kolkata sun is beating down outside. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of keyboards and people talking about their next project. We don’t have a massive gate or anything, just a door that stays open most of the day. Working in the 700001 area means dealing with the traffic and the rain during monsoon season, which usually floods the street a little bit. We spend a lot of time making sure the students have what they need for their lessons. Sometimes the internet goes slow, and we all just wait it out while drinking some water. It’s not a fancy corporate office, it’s a place for learning. The staff usually brings tea from the stall around the corner. We know the neighbors and the people who run the shops nearby. It’s a very local way of doing things. You won’t find any polished marble floors here, just plain tiles and a lot of books and papers stacked on the desks. It’s a busy spot, but we’ve found our rhythm over the years on this street. It works for us and the students who come here every day. It feels like home after all these years.
