We are based out of P-711 in Block A over in Laketown. It’s a residential area, so it stays relatively quiet, which is good for what we do. Most of our day is spent helping students or looking through educational materials. The shelves are pretty much overflowing with books and old folders. We started this because we wanted a place where learning was the main thing. It’s not a corporate office; it’s more like a study center where people actually talk to each other. We have a few rooms set up with chairs and tables. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a clicking noise that we keep meaning to fix, but we never quite get around to it. Students come in and out at different times. We spend a lot of time on the phone with parents or typing up notes. Laketown is a nice neighborhood to work in. There are a few shops nearby where we grab lunch. The office is usually a bit of a mess with papers everywhere, but we know where everything is. It’s just a handful of us running the show. We don’t have fancy signs or a big marketing budget. We just show up, do the work, and hope the students get something out of it. It’s a long day sometimes, especially when exams are coming up, but it’s a living. We just keep our heads down and focus on the lessons.
