Our shop is located over at 93/9 Santosh Roy Road in Barisha. Most people just know us as being in the Kolkata-8 area. It’s a bit of a tight spot with all the traffic on Santosh Roy Road, but we’ve made it work for a long time. At Ultra Designer Tiles Pvt Ltd, we mostly just focus on the tiles and the daily grind. The building isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but inside we have stacks of stock everywhere. It gets a bit cramped when a new shipment comes in and we have to shuffle things around. Usually, someone is always sweeping the floor because of the fine dust from the ceramic and stone pieces. We don't really have a big sales pitch or a fancy showroom with bright lights and music. People just walk in, look at what we have on the racks, and we tell them the price. It’s a local business through and through. The weather in Kolkata can be really tough on the staff, especially in the heat of the summer, but we keep the old fans going. Sometimes we share tea with the neighbors or the delivery drivers who are waiting for their loads. Being in Barisha means we see the same faces often. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in West Bengal, just a steady one on our little slice of the road. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving boxes around, but that’s the job. We've been here long enough that the postman knows us.
