Anushma Marble & Tiles

You can find Anushma Marble & Tiles at 28 Gobinda Addy Road, right across from the Basudha Marriage House in Chetla. It’s a busy little corner of the Alipore area. We deal with both marble slabs and various types of floor tiles. Our day starts early, usually before the traffic gets too bad on this particular road. The shop is filled with heavy slabs and piles of boxes containing ceramic tiles. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and shifting things around so customers can see the different patterns and finishes. We don’t have a fancy office; we mostly just sit among the stock and talk to people. Visitors often use the marriage house as a landmark to find us. We get all kinds of visitors, from homeowners to site supervisors and builders. Sometimes the yard gets a bit muddy when it rains, but we keep things moving as best as we can. We’ve seen a lot of changes in Chetla over the years, but we’ve stayed right here doing the same thing. It’s mostly about checking the crates for cracks and making sure the delivery truck is loaded properly for the trip. We aren't trying to be anything other than a local supplier. We talk to people plainly about what will actually work for their floors. It’s a job that keeps our hands dirty and our days full. We are just a local business trying to do things right for the neighborhood.
