Dhariwal Marbles

We've been here at Ultadanga for quite a while now. If you head down Canal East Road and look for number 15, that is where we keep all the slabs. It is a busy area with lots of trucks coming in and out all day. The yard gets dusty, but that is just how it is when you deal with stones. My family started this because we knew a lot about marbles and how they look once they are polished up. Most days, we are just moving things around or helping someone pick out a piece for their floor. It is heavy work. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. Just the stacks of marble and us. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, especially when it rains near the canal, but we keep the gates open anyway. People come by asking about different patterns and colors. We try to tell them what we know. Some pieces have cracks or marks that are just natural. That is the thing about stone, it isn't perfect. We just handle the loading and making sure everything gets where it needs to go. It is a simple setup here. If you are around the neighborhood, you will probably see our sign. We are usually here from morning until the sun goes down, just doing the regular work that needs doing.
