Our office is tucked away on the first floor at Lal Bazar Street. It is room number 1-D, right in the middle of all the noise and activity of the city. Being at No. 8/1 means we are close to the main hubs, which helps when we have to sort out paperwork for shipping. It’s mostly desks and samples here rather than a massive yard. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or checking on delivery schedules. It can get a bit cramped when too many people visit at once, but we manage. The building is older, so it has that classic feel you find in this part of town. We keep various small pieces of marble on the shelves so customers can see the veins and the colors without having to visit a big warehouse right away. It’s more of the business side of things happening here. We track where the slabs are going and make sure the accounts are right. Sometimes the tea guy comes around twice a day and that's usually our break. It is a steady pace, nothing too fast but we stay busy with the local trade. Working in the city center has its challenges with parking and crowds, but this is where we've always been.
