Our place, Tourism India, is located over at 2/1 Dum Dum Road in the Cossipore area. If you know where Chiriya More is, we are very close to that, tucked into what everyone calls Radio Gali. It’s an old part of Kolkata and things can get pretty crowded and noisy outside our door. We’ve been operating out of this small space for a good while. Most of the people who come to us are locals from the neighborhood or travelers who heard about us through word of mouth. We handle travel plans and try to make sense of all the different train and flight timings for folks. It’s not always easy because things change so fast nowadays. Some days the tea guy comes by more often than the customers, and other days we don't even have time to sit down. We aren't a big chain or anything like that. We are just a local office trying to keep up with the work. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we spend most of our time looking at schedules anyway. Being near Radio Gali means there is always something happening outside. We like the energy of the street even if it gets a bit much sometimes. People stop in just to ask for directions sometimes, and that’s fine with us. We just do our work, day in and day out, helping people get where they need to go.
