The Travelers Club

The Travelers Club is found at 173, M B Road in Birati. This is our base for everything related to trips and tours. We have been here in Kolkata for a good while now. The office is on the main road, so we see the traffic and the people going about their business all day. It is a simple setup. We have a few desks, some computers, and a lot of maps. People come in when they are thinking about taking a break from their daily routine. We talk about where they want to go and what their budget looks like. It’s not about being the biggest agency, just about getting the details right for each person who walks in. We spend a lot of time on the phone with hotels and transport providers. Some days are slow and we just update our records, while other days are very busy with people wanting last-minute tickets. We don't use any fancy slogans here. We just try to be practical. If a train is full, we look for a bus. If a hotel is too expensive, we look for another one. It’s just about solving the little problems that come up with travel planning. We enjoy being in Birati. It’s a lively area and we’ve made a lot of friends among the other local shopkeepers over the years. We just keep our doors open and wait for the next person to come in with a dream of going somewhere new.
