If you ever find yourself on Kalakar Street in Kolkata, you’ll find us at 23/B. It’s a very old part of the city, and the street is always packed with people and vendors. Our office is right in the middle of all that chaos. Inside, the air usually smells a bit like tea because we’ve got samples lying around everywhere. The building itself has those high ceilings and thick walls you find in these older Kolkata properties. It’s not a shiny modern office building by any means. We’ve got stacks of boxes and old ledgers that have been there for years. Most of the day is spent checking on shipments or talking to the folks who grow the tea. We use those old-fashioned ceiling fans that click as they turn. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, and the lanes can be quite narrow, especially when the delivery trucks are blocking the way. We’ve been here at this 700007 pincode for quite a long time. The floor is made of that old red stone that stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. We don’t have a fancy reception desk or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be there at a desk covered in paperwork. It’s just how we operate, nothing too complicated or polished about it. We just focus on the tea and getting it where it needs to go.
