We've been at Sikkim Commerce House on Middleton Street for a while now. Most days here are spent dealing with tea batches and getting shipments ready for travel. It’s a busy spot on the 5th floor. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded with paperwork, but we manage. The tea comes in from the gardens and we spend a lot of time checking it over. It's not always easy, especially when the weather is bad or shipping gets delayed, but it’s what we do. People ask about the export side of things, and mostly it's just coordinating with various folks to make sure boxes end up where they are supposed to. We aren't doing anything fancy. Middleton Street is a good location, though the traffic downstairs can be a nightmare during the afternoons. Inside our office, it smells like dry leaves most of the time. We have a small team here. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the piles of samples get a bit out of hand. It's just part of the daily routine. We've seen a lot of changes in the trade over the years. Some years are better than others, and you just have to take it as it comes. We just focus on getting the day's work done and making sure the crates are packed tight. It’s honest work and keeps us busy from morning till evening. We often have tea together in the afternoon just to take a short break before finishing up.
