Amalgamated Bean Coffee

Our spot at No. 226/1 on the 5th floor of A.J.C. Bose Road stays pretty busy with the smell of coffee everywhere. Being Amalgamated Bean Coffee means we spend a lot of time thinking about beans, roasting, and how to get everything moved from one place to another without too much trouble. The office isn't anything special to look at, just some desks and a lot of bags sitting in the corners. A.J.C. Bose Road is always packed with cars, so getting here in the morning takes longer than it should. We’ve been here long enough that the security guards know us by name. Some days the phones don't stop ringing and other days it's just the sound of the machines and someone brewing a fresh pot. We don't really do the whole fancy corporate thing. Instead, we just focus on the coffee and making sure the quality is what it needs to be. Sometimes we’re short-staffed and everyone has to jump in to help with the heavy lifting or the sorting. It gets dusty, and the humidity in the summer doesn’t help much, but that’s just how it goes in this business. Most of our time is spent checking batches or talking to the transport guys about delays. It’s a lot of work that people don't see from the outside, but we’re used to the pace by now. We just take it one day at a time and keep the grinders running as much as possible.
