Stepping Stone

Stepping Stone is located on the first floor of building EB 11, right on the Baguihati Main Road. If you know the area, it is directly opposite the Swarabala Medical Hall. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of movement and noise from the buses and taxis outside. It is not a very large place, but it serves the purpose for those living around the 700059 pin code. The stairs leading up to the first floor are a bit narrow, and you have to be careful when it rains because the floor gets a little slippery. Inside, we have some rooms set up for teaching. It’s pretty basic with whiteboards and wooden benches. We don’t have any big signs or flashy lights. Most people just find us by looking for the medical hall and then crossing over. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but that’s just how things are in this part of Kolkata. The neighborhood is full of small shops and people rushing to work. We spend most of our day here keeping things organized and making sure the students have what they need. It’s a busy spot, especially in the evenings when the traffic on Baguihati Main Road is at its peak. We have been at this address for a while now, and it has become a regular part of our daily lives here. There is nothing corporate about it; it’s just a simple room where people come to learn.
