Sabmiller India runs this particular office from a flat in Kolkata. We are located at 67/B/Ballygunge Circular Road, specifically in Flat 8B. It’s a bit different from what you might expect for a company that deals with beer and beverages, but it works for us. Ballygunge is one of those classic Kolkata neighborhoods with lots of history and big old trees lining the streets. Being on the 8th floor gives us a bit of a break from the noise of the trams and the honking cars down below. The office itself is just a regular apartment that we’ve converted into a workspace. We have our meetings in what would have been the living room. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, not at all like those stiff offices you see in movies. We spend our time looking at spreadsheets and talking to our distributors across the region. We don't have a giant logo on the building or anything. You just come up the elevator and ring the bell. It makes the whole business feel a lot more personal. We like the pace of life here in Kolkata. We take our work seriously, but we also take time for a good cup of tea and a chat. It’s a small, dedicated team here in this flat, just keeping everything running smoothly for the brand without any extra drama or polish.
