Rahara College

We are tucked away in the Jadavpur area of Kolkata, specifically in the C.R. Colony extension. It’s a crowded part of the city, so finding a bit of quiet is hard, but our college building manages it okay. The address is 1/32, and if you’ve been around here, you know how these streets can get with the traffic and the shops. The building itself has been here for a long time. It has high ceilings and those heavy doors that you find in older West Bengal architecture. Students are always coming and going through the front entrance, carrying their books and talking. We don't have a huge campus with grass and fountains. It’s more of an urban spot where every bit of space is used for something. Inside, the halls are lined with notices and old photos from years ago. The classrooms are simple with wooden benches that have seen a lot of use. During the lunch break, the local area gets even busier as everyone heads out to find something to eat. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. It’s just a place for learning in the middle of a busy neighborhood. The staff knows most of the regulars, and there’s a sense of community because we’re all squeezed into this corner of Jadavpur together. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it gets the job done for the students who come here every day for their classes.
