Suman Aich Photography

I've been doing this for a while now from my place at No. 32 Netaji Colony. It started out as just a hobby, really, but people kept asking me to take photos of their kids or family gatherings, so it turned into a full-time thing. Most days I’m either out at a shoot or sitting here going through files on the computer. It’s quiet in this part of the colony, which helps when I need to focus on editing. I don't have a big fancy studio with receptionists and all that. It’s just me and my gear. Some days the lighting is perfect and other days it’s a struggle, but that’s just how it goes with photography. I try to keep things simple. People come over, we talk about what they need, and I do my work. I’ve lived in this area for years, so most of the neighbors know where to find me if they need a passport photo or something for a wedding. It gets busy during the marriage season, and the house ends up full of prints, tripods, and bags. I don't spend much time on social media or advertising because the work usually comes from folks talking to each other. If you're walking past Netaji Colony, you might see my sign. It’s a small operation, but it keeps me busy and I like being my own boss. Sometimes the camera equipment gets heavy, but I’ve gotten used to it over the years. That’s pretty much the story of how things run here.
