Anup Sunams Photography

My name is Anup and I’ve been taking pictures around Braborne Road for a good while. This studio, Anup Sunams Photography, is where I keep all my gear and spend my time editing shots. The street outside is always noisy. There’s a lot of traffic and people moving about constantly at all hours. It’s a bit of a climb to get up here, but the light is decent for what I do. I started out with just one old camera and not much else in my pocket. Now the shelves are a bit more crowded with lenses and boxes. I don’t have a huge team of assistants following me around. Mostly it is just me. I handle the bookings, the shooting, and the finishing touches myself. It gets a bit overwhelming when wedding season hits or when local families all want portraits at the same time for the holidays. I try to keep my workspace tidy, but there are always cables and lenses sitting around on the table. People stop in to talk about their events or just to see some of the prints I’ve got on the wall. I’ve lived around here long enough to know most of the faces on the block. It’s a busy life, but I wouldn't want to do anything else. Sometimes I’m out on the street taking shots, other times I’m stuck behind the screen for hours on end. That's how it goes.
