Working out of Bidhangarh means I see a lot of the same faces every week. Photography started as something small and now it takes up all my time. The studio isn’t huge but I have enough space for the lights and the backdrops I use. Mostly, I am out on the street or at someone’s house for a function. Taking pictures of weddings or rice ceremonies keeps me busy on the weekends. My camera bag is getting heavy these days. I spend hours looking at a screen trying to make the colors look right after a long shoot. It’s a lot of clicking and then a lot of sitting. Sometimes the rain in Bidhangarh makes it hard to get the outdoor shots people want. I tell them we have to wait for the clouds to move. People here like traditional poses but I try to catch them when they aren't looking too. Those are usually the best ones. I don’t use a lot of fancy words for what I do. I just point the lens and hope the kid stops crying long enough for one good photo. The shop is where I keep the prints and the old frames. It’s quiet during the day when I’m editing. I like the way the neighborhood feels in the early morning. It’s a job like any other but I get to see people at their happiest moments.
