Diptendu Saha - Photography

My place is right on Mahatma Gandhi Road. It’s a busy area, always something happening outside the windows. I’ve been doing photography for a while now under the name Diptendu Saha. I don't have a giant studio with tons of lights and assistants. It’s mostly just me and my cameras. I spend a lot of time looking through lenses and even more time sitting at the computer fixing up the shots. People come to me for all sorts of things—weddings, portraits, or just family photos. Mahatma Gandhi Road is easy for everyone to get to, so I get a lot of walk-ins asking about prices or dates. I try to keep it simple. I don’t use a lot of fancy jargon about lighting or composition. I just try to take a picture that looks like the person standing in front of me. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate for outdoor shots, or the light in the room is tricky, but you figure it out as you go. It’s a lot of waiting for the right moment and then hoping you caught it. I’ve got boxes of old prints and hard drives full of new ones. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but I know where the good stuff is. It’s just a regular job that I happen to enjoy doing right here in the middle of the city. I am usually here late working on edits for the next day.
