Subhadip Photography

I've been running things here at Subhadip Photography for a bit now. We are right over in Uttarpara, pretty close to Shalimar Industries. If you know the area, you know it gets busy around the industrial gates. Most days I’m just here messing with the lenses or checking out prints. It isn’t some fancy high-rise studio with a lobby and a receptionist. It’s just me and the gear in this spot. Sometimes the light hits the street outside just right in the afternoons. People drop by to talk about photos for their families or maybe some work stuff they need done. I started doing this because I liked the way things look through a viewfinder. It’s a lot of sitting around waiting for the right moment and then a lot of time spent at the computer later on. The neighborhood is okay, plenty of places to grab a quick chai while I'm waiting for a client to show up. I don't really have a big speech about what I do. I just take the pictures and hope they turn out how people want them to. It’s steady work and it keeps me occupied. Sometimes the traffic near Shalimar Industries makes it hard for people to find the place the first time, but once you’re here, it’s quiet enough to get things done. I usually have the radio playing in the background while I work on the edits. That’s pretty much how it goes here every day.
