Modern Academy

Modern Academy is situated at 25 Gariahat Road South in the Dhakuria area. It’s a very central spot and most people around here know the building. We have been here for many years, providing a place for students to come for their lessons. The building itself is right on the main road, which is convenient for anyone taking the bus or the tram. It does mean there is a lot of traffic noise during the day, but we don't mind it much anymore. Inside, the rooms are fairly simple. We have the usual desks, chairs, and shelves full of old books and papers. We don't have a big playground or a garden, so the students spend most of their time in the classrooms. The staff spends their day going from one class to another or sitting in the small office area to get the paperwork finished. We don’t use any big marketing words to describe what we do. It’s just a school where the kids come to study their subjects and prepare for their exams. The neighborhood of Dhakuria has changed a lot, but our school has stayed pretty much the same. We have seen many groups of students pass through these halls over the decades. We keep the place running day in and day out without much fuss. It is a plain, functional school that serves the families in this part of the city.
