We are located on the first floor of the Udayachal Tourist Lodge, over in DG Block, Sector 11 of Salt Lake. It’s a bit of a different setting since we are inside the lodge building. You have to come in and head up the stairs to find us. Salt Lake is usually a bit quieter than the rest of the city, but this block stays fairly active. We’ve been operating here for some time now. The space has a certain look to it, not exactly modern, but it feels familiar. We spend our mornings checking the kitchen equipment and talking to the people staying at the lodge. It’s a mix of tourists and locals who know we are here. The kitchen isn't huge, so we have to stay organized to get everything done. We don't use any flashy marketing or have a big social media presence. We just rely on the sign outside and word of mouth. Sometimes the service is a bit slow when we have a big group, but we do our best to catch up. The furniture is what you’d expect in a tourist lodge, simple and functional. We don't try to be something we aren't. It’s just us, the Mishras, running a place where you can get something to eat. We deal with the usual daily problems like a leaky tap or a late delivery just like any other small business.
