Dui Burir Hessel

Dui Burir Hessel is located at Fc 45 in Sector 3 of Salt Lake City. If you know the area, we are right there in the middle of Tank 11 and Tank 13. We started this kitchen because we really enjoy the traditional ways of cooking that we grew up with. It is just a few of us here every day, chopping vegetables and making sure the spices are right. The name actually means two grandmas' kitchen, which fits because we like to keep things simple and honest. Being in Salt Lake is nice because it is relatively quiet compared to other parts of the city. We spend most of our mornings getting everything ready for the day ahead. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit messy when we are busy, but that is just how it goes when you are really working. We have been at this spot for a while now and the neighbors know us by name. We do not have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a practical space where the cooking happens. We use what is fresh from the market each morning. There is always someone here if you drop by, usually busy with a pot or a pan. We do not really do much advertising. People mostly just find us because they live nearby or heard about us from someone else in the block. It is a lot of work but we like being part of the community here.
