Kesari Higher Secondary School

Located at 152 S P Mukherjee Road, our school sits right in the middle of a very busy part of Kolkata. You can hear the trams and the cars going by all day long. The building is quite old and has a lot of character, though the stairs are a bit steep. We handle the higher secondary students, so the atmosphere is a bit more serious than a primary school. The classrooms are filled with wooden benches that have seen many years of use. We don't have air conditioning, so we just keep the fans going and the windows open. The staff room is on the second floor, and it’s always a bit of a mess with exam papers and registers. We try to keep things running smoothly, but with so many students, it’s always a challenge. There’s a small area out back where the kids go during their break to stretch their legs. We don't have a big cafeteria, so most kids bring their own lunch from home. You can smell the different foods during the break time. It’s a very typical Kolkata school. We focus on the board exams because that’s what matters most to the parents and the students. We’ve been at this address for decades, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but the school stays much the same. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
