Jadavpur University

We are part of the Jadavpur University community, specifically working with Madhumita Sen Gupta. Our location is 309 Ganguly Bagan, which is under the Po Naktala in Kolkata. The pin code is 700 047. It’s a typical Kolkata neighborhood with narrow streets and houses close together. This isn't the main campus, but it’s where we handle a lot of our specific academic and administrative work. The office is inside a regular building, so it feels very much like a lived-in space. We have books everywhere and piles of papers on the desks. It’s a busy place, but not in a corporate way. More like a place where a lot of thinking and writing happens. We spend our days coordinating with students and other staff. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with all the different things going on. Naktala is a good area, though it can get flooded when the rains are heavy. We just keep going regardless. We don't have a big sign out front or anything. People who need to find us usually know the way. It’s a humble setup for such a big name like Jadavpur University. We just focus on the research and the tasks at hand. There’s a tea shop around the corner where we often talk about work. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day in Kolkata. We’ve been at 309 Ganguly Bagan for a long time.
