J Pyne is tucked away at No. 39 B Sree Gopal Mullick Lane, right in the heart of the College Street area. If you know the neighborhood, you know how crowded it gets with students and shoppers. Our spot isn't huge, but it's where we spend most of our time. Usually, the morning starts with opening up the shutters and dusting things off. It’s a narrow lane, so it gets a bit tight when deliveries arrive or when many people pass by at once. We've seen a lot of changes in this part of town over the years, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. It's got that old-school feel that you only find in this part of Kolkata. Sometimes we lose track of time because there's always something to organize or someone to talk to. We don't use any fancy systems, just honest work and a lot of patience. It can get quite loud outside with all the shouting and the traffic from the main road, but inside we just keep moving. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. We just provide what we can from this address. It’s a humble setup, but it works for us and the people who come by. Every day brings something a bit different, even if the routine feels the same.
