Our place, INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY SYNDICATE, is over at 54, Ezra Street. If you know this part of the city, you know it's always crowded and busy. We have been sitting here for a long time. It’s an old building, and we have supplies piled up pretty high. We deal with all sorts of industrial stuff that people need for their factories or repairs. It can be a bit of a mess sometimes, but we usually know where everything is. Ezra Street has a lot of history, and we feel like part of the furniture now. We open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to come by. There’s a lot of noise from the street, people shouting and horns honking all day. We just sit at the counter and take orders. Sometimes it takes a while to find a specific part if it’s buried in the back. We don’t have a fancy website or anything like that. Most people just call us or drop in because they were passing by anyway. It is a very hands-on kind of business. We use old ledgers to write things down. It works for us. The space is tight, but we make it work. You get used to the cramped quarters after a few years. We just keep supplying what’s asked for. It gets dusty, but that’s the way it is here. We have a small radio that plays in the background.
