Walk down to 35 Market Street and you’ll find us. A.Rahman And Son has been a part of this neighborhood for a long time. It’s a family thing, passed down through the years, which is why the name still says what it does. The shop is filled with stuff from floor to ceiling, and honestly, sometimes it feels like only we know exactly where everything is hidden. Market Street is always loud and crowded, with people shouting and bikes squeezing past, but inside our doors, it’s just the usual day-to-day work. We talk to the regulars who have been coming here since they were kids. It’s not about having a glossy storefront or a big website. It’s about being here every morning when the shutters go up. My father used to say that the street never sleeps, and he was right. We spend a lot of time just keeping up with the inventory and making sure people get what they came for. There isn't any fancy management here, just us and the customers. Sometimes the floor is a bit dusty and the lightbulbs flicker, but that’s just the character of an old building on a busy market road. We’ve seen the street change a lot over the years, but we’re still right here at number 35, doing things the same way we always have. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
