A.MOHAMMED & COMPANY

We’ve been at No. 218 for a long time now. Old China Bazar Street is always crowded, and that’s just how it is. Sometimes it’s hard to even find a spot to park a bike out front. A.MOHAMMED & COMPANY is basically just us in a small space filled with stuff. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. Most days start early before the sun gets too high and the street gets really noisy. We open the shutters, move a few things around, and get to work. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just some desks and plenty of paperwork everywhere. People walk by all day long, shouting and selling things. You get used to the sound of the carts on the pavement. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just sit and wait or talk. We know most of the people on this block. It’s a busy spot in the city. We don't have a big sign, just the name on the door that’s been there forever. If you’re looking for us, look for the old door near the middle of the street. Inside, it’s mostly quiet unless we are on the phone. We just keep doing what we do every day without much fuss. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running. It’s home for us, really.
