Himat & Company

Himat & Company is based at 113-A, Manohar Das Chowk. This is a very old and crowded part of the city, so it is always bustling from early morning until late at night. You can hear the rickshaw drivers and the street vendors right outside our window all day long. The building we are in is quite old and the walls could definitely use some new paint, but it has been our home for many years. We deal with various goods and the inventory is stacked up almost to the ceiling in some of the back rooms. It feels a bit like a maze when you walk inside. We have a heavy old wooden desk where we keep the ledger books and handle the daily paperwork. The lighting isn't great in the back, so we have a few extra lamps to help us see what we are doing. We don't do any advertising or have a website. Most people find us because they have been dealing with us for decades. Manohar Das Chowk is a famous landmark, so we just tell people to come to the chowk and look for number 113-A. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the other traders in the building when business is slow. It’s a very traditional way to work, but it’s what we know and how we have always done things here.
