You can find us over at 113 Monohardas Chowk. We have Room No. 33 and also Room No. 124 in the building. Being in Burabazar means it is always incredibly busy outside. The streets are packed with carts, people carrying boxes, and plenty of shouting. It’s a bit of a walk through the hallways to get to our rooms, but we like it here. We’ve been in these rooms for a long time now. They are small and packed with files and ledgers, but we know where everything is. The fans hum all day to keep the air moving because it can get quite stuffy in the afternoons. We don’t have a big sign out front or anything. Most people who come to see us have been doing so for years. We usually have a kettle going for tea, and someone is almost always on the phone. The noise from the chowk downstairs never really stops until very late at night. It is a traditional way of working, I suppose. We don’t use any fancy computers for everything; a lot of things are still done by hand. It’s just the way we’ve always handled things at A. Paul & Co. The rooms are a bit dark, but they stay cool enough in the summer. We just take each day as it comes, dealing with the paperwork and talking to the regulars who drop by. It is a bit of an old-school life but we enjoy it and we know the area well.
