Ags Irrigations Pvt. Ltd. is located on Ekangipuram Main Street in Ayanvaram. It is a busy little street and we have been here at number 11 for some time. We deal with irrigation stuff, mostly pipes and valves and all the small bits that go into moving water around a field or a backyard. Our warehouse space is usually full of plastic tubing and brass fittings. It can get a bit cluttered when a big shipment comes in from the suppliers. We spend a lot of our time counting stock and making sure everything is where it should be on the shelves. Most of the guys who work here have been around water systems for a long time. We talk to a lot of landscapers and small farmers who need a specific fitting they cannot find anywhere else in the city. Sometimes the pipes are heavy and it involves a lot of lifting, especially during the humid afternoons. We are not much for fancy displays or showrooms; the stuff is just there for whoever needs it. Ayanvaram is a good neighborhood, and we know most of the other shopkeepers on the street by their first names. If someone comes in with a leak or a broken pump, we try to find the part that fixes it. It is practical work. We do not have a marketing department, just us and the stock we keep.
