Gurunanak Institute Of Technology is tucked away in Abash village. You can find us at Pradip Kumar Sen’s place, care of Srikanta Sen, in the Paschim Midnapur district. It is a quiet spot, far from the noise of the bigger cities. We decided to set this up because there weren’t many places nearby for people to learn about technical things. The building is simple and we’ve filled it with whatever equipment we could get our hands on. It’s not a polished corporate campus. It’s more like a workshop where people come to learn. The roads around here can be a bit rough, especially during the monsoon season when everything gets muddy. We’ve been here for a while now, and the local folks know where to find us. We handle the classes ourselves, and sometimes things get a bit chaotic when we have a lot of people showing up at once. We don't have a big philosophy or mission statement. We just show people how to use the machines and the software. It’s dusty work sometimes, and we spend a lot of time just maintaining the place. Students come from all over the village and some neighboring ones too. We just talk about how stuff works and try to help them figure things out. It’s basic, honest work in a rural setting and we’re fine with that. We just keep doing what we do.
