We set up shop at No.77 on 1st Main Road a while back. Heggana Halli is a busy part of the industrial area, so there is always noise from the machines next door. Our place is mostly dust and stone slabs. We spend most of the day moving things around with the crane. It is hard work, and your clothes get dirty pretty fast. Sometimes the power goes out, which is a real pain when we're in the middle of a cut. We have a small crew here. Some of the guys have been with us since we started. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. We just want to get the pieces finished so they can go out to the sites on time. The office is just a small cabin in the corner where we keep the paperwork. It gets hot in the afternoons under the metal roof. We usually take a tea break around four. There is a small shop down the road that makes decent snacks. My desk is always covered in stone samples and old invoices. It's a bit of a mess, but I know where everything is. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The trucks come in the morning to pick up the finished slabs. If the weather is bad, things slow down, but we catch up eventually. We’ve had to replace the main saw twice this year, which was expensive, but that’s how it goes with this kind of work.
