Everest Tours & Travels is located at 117/1, Block C in Bangur Avenue. Bangur is a nice area, and we’ve set up our little office here to help people with their holiday plans. We aren't a massive agency with branches everywhere. It’s just us in this one spot in 700055. People usually come in when they are thinking about taking a trip and want to talk to a real person instead of just looking at a screen. We have lots of papers and folders around because we like to keep track of everything manually. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for us. We don't use any fancy sales talk or try to push people into things they don't want. We just listen to where they want to go and try to find a way to make it happen within their budget. Sometimes we spend hours on the phone trying to get a booking confirmed. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which we like. It allows us to actually talk to our customers without too much noise from the street. We’ve lived and worked in Kolkata for a long time, so we know what people are looking for. It’s a steady kind of job. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and see who needs help with their next journey. It is a simple, honest way to make a living.
