Deepak & Divya Studio

Our studio is at 42 A on the Louden Street crossing, right near Park Street in the Koinug building. It’s an old building with those heavy doors and high ceilings that you find in this part of town. We have a lot of gear scattered around, mostly tripods and lights that we trip over if we’re not careful. The walls are covered with old photos and some test prints that we never got around to framing. We spend a lot of hours sitting in front of screens or adjusting the backdrop. It can be a bit cramped when we have more than a few people in here. The window looks out toward the crossing, so we see all the traffic on Park Street. We drink far too much tea during the day to stay awake. It’s a bit of a messy place, with cables running across the floor and bags of equipment tucked into corners. We’ve been at this crossing for a long time, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Deepak and Divya are usually here every day, arguing about where to put a light or how to crop a picture. It isn't a slick, corporate studio with a reception desk. You just walk in and we’re probably in the middle of something. We just like taking pictures and making things look okay.
