Chate International Academy

Out here on Bama Charan Roy Road in Behala, the days go by pretty fast at Chate International Academy. It’s a bit of a walk from the main crossing, but that makes it a little quieter for the students. The building at 51 1A has that old Kolkata feel to it, with thick walls and windows that have seen a lot of monsoons. We spend a lot of time organizing the classrooms and making sure the registers are up to date. It’s not a shiny new glass building, it’s a real place where people actually work and learn. Sometimes the street outside gets a bit crowded with rickshaws, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to get somewhere at once. We’ve got a small area where we keep the books and equipment, and it’s always a bit of a struggle to keep everything perfectly organized. The staff room is small, so we usually end up chatting while we drink our chai standing up. It’s just how it is. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; we just focus on what’s happening inside these walls. The humidity in West Bengal can be a bit much in the summer, so the fans are always going full speed. It’s a hardworking atmosphere, nothing too fancy, just the Academy doing its job in the heart of Behala. You can find us easily if you know the landmark, and we’re usually there until late evening getting things ready for the next day.
