Beyond Borders

Our place is at 7C Hasting Chamber on the ground floor. It is on Kiran Sankar Roy Road, which is very close to the High Court. Because of the court, the whole area is usually full of lawyers and people in a hurry. We are on the ground floor, so it is easy to just walk in off the street. The office is functional. We have some desks, some chairs for visitors, and a lot of paper everywhere. We deal with travel, often helping people go beyond the usual places, though the name makes it sound more poetic than it is. It’s mostly just hard work looking up prices and checking dates. The building itself has that old Kolkata feel to it. It gets quite busy during court hours, so the street outside is always packed with cars and people. We’ve been in this spot for a while and we like being on the ground floor. It makes it easier for older folks to come in without worrying about stairs. We don't have any flashy TV screens showing holiday spots. We just talk to people and figure out what they need for their journeys. It is a straightforward operation. We have our tea, we do our work, and we help people get to where they need to go. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of the road, but that’s just part of being here. We don't make things complicated.
