Vyasa Vidyalaya

Our school is located in Kakkanad, specifically at the Vysa Vidyalkaya Compound on I 732. It is part of the Vysa Charitable Trust. Being in Ernakulam, things around us move pretty fast. The area has grown a lot over the years with more buildings coming up nearby. The school stays pretty much the same, though. We have a solid building with several floors. The stairs are a bit steep, so we tell the students not to run. Inside, the rooms are filled with rows of wooden desks. Some of them have initials carved into them from students who left years ago. We have a small office where we handle the admissions and the fees. It is usually stacked with files and ledgers. The fans hum all day long to keep the heat away. Outside, there is a bit of space for the kids to gather. We don't have a massive field, but they manage to play their games. The morning assembly is held in the open area when the weather is good. If it rains, we all squeeze into the corridors. Most of our staff have been with us for a long time. We know the shortcuts through the traffic to get here. It is a busy place, but we try to keep a calm atmosphere inside the gates. We just focus on the textbooks and the daily schedule without much fuss.
