Christu Jayanthi Public School

Christu Jayanthi Public School is situated in Rajagiri Valley, along the Mapranam Road in Kakkanad, Ernakulam. The location is quite green, which is typical for this part of Kerala. We have a lot of trees around the campus, and when it rains, which is often, the whole place feels very lush. The school buildings are spread out, and there’s a lot of climbing stairs to get from one level to another because of how the land sits in the valley. The mornings start with the sound of buses winding their way up the road. Inside, the classrooms are basic and functional, with enough room for the students to sit comfortably and the teachers to move around. We have a playground that gets quite muddy during the monsoon season, so we have to be careful about where the kids run. The staffroom is usually a hive of activity with teachers grading papers and talking about the day's plans. We don’t spend time on polished speeches; we just focus on the daily tasks of running a school in Kakkanad. The administrative office deals with the usual rush of parents and visitors coming through the front door. It’s a busy environment but one that feels very connected to the local hills and valleys. We’ve been at this address for years, and the routine of the bells and the assembly is just a part of who we are now. It’s just a normal school day for everyone here, from the first bell in the morning to the final bus departure.
