The Genius Montessori House Of Children

Our place is on the 7th Cross Road, specifically No. Mnra 122 A, right by the Cochin University Pipe Line. This part of Kochi is usually pretty green, though it gets very wet during the monsoon season. We have a smaller setup because we focus on the little ones. The Montessori equipment is spread out in the rooms, and we try to keep everything at a level where the children can reach it. It’s not a big, imposing institution; it feels more like a house, which I think helps the kids feel more comfortable. We spend a lot of our time tidying up small wooden blocks and colorful beads. The garden area is small, but we have some plants that the children help look after when the weather is nice. Being in Changampuzha Nagar means we are close to a lot of families in Ernakulam. The staff room is tiny, mostly just a desk and some shelves for folders. We don't have a lot of formal meetings; we just chat about what needs to be done while we're having our lunch. The gate is a bit heavy to pull shut, and sometimes the rain leaks a little near the front door, but we just put a mat down and get on with it. It’s a quiet spot away from the main traffic of the university area. We like the slow pace of things here, just watching the kids learn how to do things themselves.
